Seth Jacob As a teenager Seth Jacob lived in Naples, Italy where his father served in the military. When the high school yearbook needed a photographer, Seth stepped forward even though he didn’t know a thing about photography. The first moment he saw an image magically appear in a tray of developer fluid he was hooked. On weekends Seth would venture down Naples’ narrow alleys with the school’s 35 mm camera. He explored the chaotic streets taking pictures of everything that caught his eye and captured his imagination. Those experiences had a profound impact on Seth’s future as a photographer.

After 25 years in photography, Seth Jacob retains that youthful spark. He sees beauty and light and is compelled to capture and share both its complexities and subtle pleasures. He is drawn to people, landscapes and shapes and his work is kaleidoscope that connects with those who can appreciate the tapestry of nature and man’s creativity. Seth’s portfolio is global and includes a completed series titled: “A Journey Across New Mexico.” These images include stunning landscapes and thoughtful photos that capture New Mexico’s history and culture. Many of these photographs are featured on the “Journey Across New Mexico,” Computer Screensaver

Being Enchanted Being Enchanted has many different segues and signposts. It can be discovering the myriad life and color in the seemingly barren Southern New Mexican desert landscape. It can be experiencing the pride of native people as they watch their tribal members dance in a parade down the streets of Gallup. It can be hiking through the ancient passages of Chaco Canyon haunted by the echoes of a lost civilization. It can be sitting on a sandstone bluff eying the endless horizon when suddenly a hot air balloon appears from the canyon below. It can be witnessing a magical aura as the sun sets on the horizon or retracing Georgia O’Keefe’s steps through the red rock mazes at Abiqui’s Ghost Ranch. It can be looking down on Albuquerque’s desert landscape while atop the Sandia Mountains surrounded by quaking, golden aspens.

These are just a few flavors of Enchantment. I have experienced all these and many more in the process of creating this website. The diversity of land, culture and history offers an unlimited opportunity to experience enchantment. My goal is to share the beauty of New Mexico and support those who are committed to sustaining it. Join me in, “Discovering” New Mexico”
